I am participating to the Colette Spring/Summer Palette Challenge. It consists in planning a small wardrobe for the spring/summer season and trying to sew everything according to plans.
And the first step is to create a moodboard. I have done tons of moodboards with magazines'pages and drawings, but I am new at making one with my computer. I used Polyvore to create this one and it's quite easy to use.
So here is my inspiration for my spring/summer wardrobe:
I was mostly inspired by fabric I already have in my stash. I see my summer wardrobe as a candy: stripes, bright blue, pink, yelow and green. Like those cupcakes.
I already have the patterns selected: a strapless Vogue dress, two Burda dresses and a vintage Vogue. Four dresses, four colours, four weddings to attend over the summer.
That's the best excuse to make pretty dresses, ones I also plan to wear on a daily basis.

I have already started the last pattern, it's Vogue pattern by Cynthia Steffe. The starpless top is constructed in three different layers: fabric, lining and bustier with boning. Lots of work but at least I won't be holding it all night in fear of a nipplegate. I am using off-white satin silk with blue, pink and yellow flowers embroided. I love it! And blue pipping between the corset's seams.
The only change I am going to make is the skirt. I prefer to add a full circle skirt instead of the original one. I am drafting it myself as it's easy enough.
Wow, I guess that I just went from inspiration moodboard to actual sewing plan. One step ahead. Now, let's sew!
Have a nice week-end!
